ULA SHENDO obituary

Ula Pearl Sutherland Shendo, 58, died March 24, 2010, from complications of diabetes. She was born Dec. 27, 1952, at Fort Belknap, Mont., to Pete and Angeline (Denny) Sutherland. Ula attended school in Rocky Boy and Great Falls. She received her GED from SIPI in 1970. There she met and married Joseph Shendo. They moved to Rocky Boy, and later they moved to Jemez Pueblo, N.M., where they lived until her death. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Joseph Shendo Sr .; her sons, Joseph Shendo Jr. And Terell Shendo; her daughter, Tanya Shendo; three grandchildren, Joey, Aalyah and Johanna, the joy of her life; her sisters, Marie (Bill) Wilson of Great Falls, Karen (Gary) Doney and Freida Ameline; her brothers, Clifford (Lydia) Sutherland and Daniel "Biddo" (Marilyn) Sutherland, all of Rocky Boy; and her adopted brother, Frank Merasty of Canada. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; her sisters, Agnes, June and Sharon; and her brother, Pete Sutherland. Pearl enjoyed being at home and talking on the phone with her family and going to her grandson's baseball games. Burial has taken place in New Mexico. Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Rocky Boy Lutheran Church.
