Jamee Michelle Vaughn, 19, died Monday, Aug. 23, 2010, from injuries she received in a motor vehicle accident north of Havre. Cremation has taken place and her memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, at the Fifth Avenue Christian Church with Rowlie Hutton officiating. A fellowship luncheon will follow immediately after the services at the Fifth Avenue Christian Church. Memorial contributions in Jamee's honor may be made to Youth Build c/o Montana State University- Northern or to Hill County 4-H Chuck Wagon Fund c/o Hill County Extension P.O. Box Havre, MT 59501. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
Jamee was born Feb. 5, 1991 in Havre, Mont., to Willard and Karla (Petersen) Vaughn. She was raised and educated in Havre attending Cottonwood, Sunnyside Intermediate, Havre Middle and Havre High schools. She was currently a student in the Youth Build Program which is a program with MSU-Northern. She enjoyed her classes in Youth Build and made many new friends. She was excited to go out to Rocky Boy and use her skills in building homes. Jamee was also active in 4-H and has been a member for 13 years. She helped as a counselor at the 4-H camp and at the Farmers Union Camp. Jamee was a free spirit and a very compassionate person who gave generously to everyone she met. She loved her family and her friends and especially her nephew, Eli. She had a great love for animals, mostly her dogs Bandit, Shania and Nikki. She had a large collection of bears, including a 5-foot bear named Alexander. She enjoyed listening to her music loudly and had a creative mind that was always testing the limits of things. She had a natural ability for welding, which she inherited from her father. Jamee's goal was to enter into the welding program at MSU-Northern after she completed her Youth Build course.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Jim and Loretta Vaughn; maternal grandfather Merle Petersen; her uncle, Roger Vaughn; two aunts, Pat Moore and Paula Vaughn; and her neighbor and delivery first-responder from up north, Nancy Peterson.
Jamee is survived by her parents, William "Willard" and Karla Vaughn of North Havre, Mont .; her sisters, Melissa (Brandon) Sheasley of Stevensville, Mont., and Desiree Vaughn and nephew, Eli Phifer, both of Havre, Mont .; special sisters and a brother, Ashleigh Farinas, Brenee Peterson and Beau Durbin, all of Havre, Mont .; her maternal grandmother, Pauline Petersen of Havre, Mont .; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends; and delivery first-responder, Gloria Meland.
