As expected, the Hi-Line has been well represented when it comes to postseason Class C basketball honors. This week, the All Northern C boys and girls teams were released, and all players making the list also received Class C All State honors. Topping the list on the boys side were Big Sandy's tandem of Blake Brumwell and Corbin Pearson. Both seniors, Pearson and Brumwell helped guide Big Sandy to the Class C state championship two weeks ago in Billings. Both players are now four-time All Northern C and All State nominees. Also making the boys team for a second straight year was Chinook senior Dylan MacLean. He helped lead Chinook to one of its best seasons in the last 10 years. MacLean averaged nearly 17 points during the season, and he helped guide the Sugarbeeters to runner- up finishes at both the District 9C tournament and Northern C Divisional. Power led the boys list with three players, while Winifred had two, Big Sandy two and Centerville two. On the girls side, four area players earned Northern C and Class C All State honors. Topping that list was Chester/J-I senior Jessica VanDyke. After missing both her sophomore and junior year's due to injury, VanDyke returned this season to lead the state in scoring. She also helped C/J-I capture the District 10C championship and finish fourth at the Northern C Divisional. Three 9C players also made the list. Box Elder junior Rylin Burns, who led the 9C in scoring this season, is a two-time honoree, while North Star senior Britnee Dyrland and Big Sandy junior Hannah Williams were also honored. Burns helped lead the Bears to the District 9C championship this season, while Dyrland averaged a doubledouble in helping the Knights to a second- place finish in the 9C and a second straight appearance in the Northern C Divisional tournament. Williams led Big Sandy in both scoring and rebounding for much of the season. Northern C champion Belt had the most players selected with three. Winifred-Roy had two players make the team. Keep watching the Havre Daily News for more local postseason honors.
