DOROTHY LOOMIS obituary

Our beloved mom, grandma, sister and friend, Dorothy Loomis' spirit went to her heavenly home on March 15, 2010, following a brief illness. She was born in Butte, Mont., on March 1, 1930, to Katherine and Roy Ball. She was the first born of seven children. On Sept. 28, 1951, she married her one true love and soulmate, William Loomis. She devoted her entire life to being a wonderful wife and mother. Not only was she a mother to her and Bill's three children, but also adopted two of their grandchildren and took many others under her wing. Since moving to Helena in 1979, Dorothy was actively involved in numerous volunteer activities. She was president of the PTA, volunteered many hours at Hospice of St. Peter's as well as Head Start. Dorothy lived her life in love and service to God, her family and many friends. She received her fullness in life by giving it away to all who were ever in need. She always expressed that she felt "blessed beyond blessing." She had a true generosity of spirit that touched all she came in contact with and she will be missed beyond measure. Her fingerprints will never fade from the lives she touched. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, William Loomis; daughter, Kathy Vetsch; brothers, Leroy Ball and Eddie Wassberg; and her sister, Linda Davisson. She is survived by her children, Mary Letang, Bill Loomis (Carol), Sandra Anderson, Trish Pentecost (Rob); grandchildren, David Letang, Trevor Loomis, Kendra Loomis, Michael Loomis, Kylie Williams, Chase Williams, Tanner Barnicoat, Kayla Anderson, Cory Pentecost and Jennifer Pentecost; her brothers, Archie Wassberg and Freddie Wassberg; and sister, Arlene Vidrich. She is also survived by numerous close friends. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Miracle Place of the Rockies 6145 N. Montana Ave. On Saturday, March 20, 2010, at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of St. Peter's, 2475 Broadway St., Helena, MT 59601. Local arrangements have been entrusted to Hagler- Anderson Mortuary in Helena.
