To Havre, thank you for your support

To the community of Havre, thank you so much for your unfailing support over the last four years. Whether I'm playing volleyball at the Havre High School gymnasium, competing in track, singing a solo at district music festival or performing on stage during musicals like "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," great people from our town are present giving me and my classmates support and encouragement. I can only hope that the diehard Northern fans can forgive me for attending Carroll enough to attend some matches over the next few years! The opportunities laid out before me at Carroll College wouldn't be possible without some amazing individuals in my life. When I started playing volleyball in sixth grade, I fell in love, and the coaches at HMS helped my passion to grow. As I entered high school, I was fortunate enough to have Bill Huebsch (current MSU-N coach) as my varsity coach for three years. I must credit him and his assistant coaches for many of the things I have learned. The successes under Bill's coaching will stay with me always. My senior year, Melanie Walker took over at Havre High and won the hearts of my teammates and me. I must thank Mel for making our last year one to remember! On the musical side of my high school experience, I have many people to thank also. Choir started for me in sixth grade with Mrs. Cook. She prepared me for the transition into high school where I got the pleasure of working with Pat and Lynn Ryan. From the choir tour in Seattle to two All-Northwest performances, they took the initiative to expose our small choir to the world of music. They helped me to grow both personally and musically, and I will truly miss working with them. Thank you for all you have done. The outstanding vocal training they provided me has helped me earn a choir scholarship at Carroll College. Finally, none of this would have been possible without the support of my parents, Kevin and Jody, and my younger brother Zach. I truly appreciate the love, support and hours spent on uncomfortable gym seats these past four years. Thank you! Karla Hellegaard Havre
