With waters still rising from continued snowmelt in the Bear's Paw Mountains, the Hill County Commission is warning people on lower Beaver Creek that they are likely to see some flooding. Commissioner Mike Anderson said this morning that, due to rising levels in Beaver Creek Reservoir, about eight miles south of Havre, additional water is being released through the dam. That is increasing the level of Beaver Creek, already over its banks in some areas, between the dam and the Milk River. "There's no imminent danger at all, but the water will be rising and we need the people who live along the creek to be aware of that, watch for rising water and take appropriate actions," he said. Late snows piled heavy snowcover and immense drifts in the mountains, which have been rapidly melting with the recent warmer weather. That already has caused some flooding south of Beaver Creek Lake, requiring action to drain some areas and prevent flooding in others in Beaver Creek Park.
