GORDON SKONES obituary

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, at 1 p.m., in the Turner American Lutheran Church, with burial following in the Wing Cemetery. Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook. Gordon was born on April 18, 1922, on the family farm east of Turner to Peter and Selma (Mellesmoen) Skones. He was raised on the family farm and attended the Turner schools. Gordon married Jeannine Tanberg on June 30, 1957, in Chinook. Gordon enjoyed tinkering with old tractors, Model T's, attending auction sales and his dog Bandit. Jeannine passed away on Sept. 25, 1986. Gordon moved to Great Falls in 2007, and resided at the Goldstone Assisted Living Center. He is survived by sons, Henry Skones and David Skones both of Havre, Pete Skones of Malta; adaughter, Donna Johnson of Great Falls; sister, Arlene Anderson of Malta; brother, Russel Skones of Star, Idaho; grandchildren, Scott Skones, Travis Johnson, Bailey Skones and Zjahn Skones; and many nieces and nephews. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Sylvia Knutson, Helen Reed, Gladys Gill; wife, Jeannine Skones in 1986; and his daughter, Lana Wagner in 1982.
