The Mixed City Tourney is set to begin this weekend, the first of two. The cost is $15 per person per event for team, singles, and doubles. Teams may consist of any combination of men and women, two men, two women, three men, one woman, or three women, one man. Doubles must consist of one man and one woman. Shifts will start at 12 p.m. on Saturdays and 1 p.m. on Sundays. There is a sign-up sheet at the desk or call Hi Line Lanes at 265-5885. The fun night is back. Saturday nights at 8:00 Jackpot bowling is being held. Call the lanes for more information and reservations. A "Family Bowling Package" is being offered for $40. A family of four can enjoy three lines of bowling each, shoe rentals, four mediun sodas, and four hot dogs or one pizza. Have your ticket punched each visit and after nine your tenth is free. Is the rack wiping your pins off? If one person's spare pins are being swept off the desk after leaving the same count look for coding. While entering team info it is easy to jump into the wrong places and not notice you have done it. Another clue to look for is colored pin count. It is an easy fix, so before coming "unglued" at the help or blaming the machine, check to see if you have coded that person's count. Carol Klindworth has a birthday Friday. Ginger Zanto picked a 2-7-8; Kelly Olson 4-6; Shawn Mariani 8-10; Brian Moore and Carol Klindworth 5-10s; Tammy Pozega 3-10; and Larry Schmidt 4-6. MJ Borlaug and Christy Holden had the highs, MJ with a 211 and Christy a 522. Lainie Fitzpatrick shot a 203, 512 and Tammy Pozega a 209, 503. Mike (dad & grandpa) Mariani's 245 and a 617 by Bret Preeshl were high. Bret had games of 234 and 233; Jay Shulund 235, and Frank Peterson a 240, 594. Ron Turner had a 584 and Bob Ingram a 589 and an 805 four game. I honestly believe this is the worst week I have ever seen for honor scores in the +25 years I have been looking for them. If you remember, when I started doing this it took a 225, 575 for the men and 200, 525 for the women. It was another week of survival. Looks like the scores will be going down again.
