On Sept. 11, 2001, a tragedy took place in this country that took thousands of innocent lives and permanently affected so many others. To commemorate the innocent lives lost and the United States service men and women who protect this country, the members of the Exchange Clubs of Billings has gratefully asked Volunteers of America Wyoming and Montana to partner with them in hosting the Healing Field in Billings, Friday, Sept. 3 to Saturday, Sept. 11.

The Healing Field is a display for public viewing of 1,000 3-by-5 foot U.S. flags that will stand eight-feet tall in perfect rows on the Exchange Par 3 Driving Range, with special commemoration to the 45 Montana service men and women who have lost their lives protecting the citizens of this country since Sept. 11, 2001.

The Healing Field will conclude with an honor ceremony Sept. 11 at 3 p.m. that will include music and guest speakers from our armed services.

This event is a great chance for Montanans to show support not only by visiting this emotionally moving visage, but also by sponsoring one or more of the 1,000 flags for $100 each. Proceeds go to Montana charities supporting child abuse prevention and Volunteers of America Wyoming & Montana's Independence Hall, which serves homeless veterans.

If you do sponsor a flag, it will be sent to you after the conclusion of the Healing Field event. As always, your support is greatly appreciated, and it's what makes Montana such a wonderful state. We look forward to seeing you there. hank you.
