Sharon Anita Carter, 60, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at the Northern Montana Care Center due to cancer.
Cremation has taken place and her memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Robert Quinn conducting. A private interment will be held at a later time. Sharon was born May 3, 1947, in Carbondale, Colo., to Carl and Cecilia (Wiggins) Henke. She was raised and educated in Colorado. She married Robert Carter on May 8, 1974, the couple made their home in Grand Junction, Colo. Her husband died in 1999 and she moved from Grand Junction to Havre in September 1999 to be near her daughter. Sharon enjoyed crocheting and embroidery and worked in the Head Start Program at the Lincoln Center. She was a member of the LDS church in Havre and enjoyed camping in Montana. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert Carter in 1999. Sharon is survived by her sons, Vincent Carter of Montrose, Colo., Jesse Carter of Arlington, Tenn., and Louis Carter of Billings; daughters, Teresa Roberts of Havre, Anita Green of New Castle, Colo. And Rae Lee Perkins of Havre; brother, George Henke of Henderson, Nev.; sisters, Connie Mars of Clifton, Colo., Fern Landon of Clifton, Violet Starner of Grand Junction and Dolores Hook of Carbondale; 24 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
