JUNE PHYLLIS JOHNSON obituary

June Phyllis (Kezar) Johnson, 87, died of natural causes on Monday, July 16, 2007 at Northern Montana Care Center.

Her services will be held at 10 a. m. Monday at the Fifth Avenue Christian Church with Pastor Rowlie Hutton officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date. June was born Jan. 30, 1920, to Lee and Signa (Granell) Kezar in Havre. She was raised in Havre and Kremlin and graduated from Kremlin High School in 1939. She met Norman Johnson at a dance in Kremlin and they were married on June 3, 1939, at a Lutheran Church in Havre. June and Norman raised their six children in Kremlin. June was a homemaker who loved to cook and was a wonderful baker. She made and decorated cakes for weddings and other occasions. June went to work at the Kremlin Schools as head cook and took great pride in her job. Later she discovered painting which became a great passion of hers. Her specialty was acrylic paint and flowers. With husband, Norman, she also loved to golf. June always had a big smile on her face and greeted family friends with much warmth and lots of homemade cooking. June and Norman moved to Whitefish after Norman retired. They lived there for 15 years before moving back to Havre in 1996. Norman passed away in April of 2003. She was preceded in death by a son, Daryl; a grandson, Mitch Burfield; her parents, Lee and Signa (Granell) Kezar; brothers, Dalys and Gerald Kezar; and a sister, Mary Jean Davey. Survivors include two daughters, Diana (Ted) Burfield of Whitefish and Delonna (Ned) Malone of Havre; three sons, Duane(Lynne Keralis) of Helena, Don (Denise Mapes) of Havre and David (LeAnn England) of Havre; sisters, Betty (Bill) Hutchinson of Big Fork, Bebe Kezar of Whitefish, Patti Walen of Great Falls and Joanna Mangels of Littleton, Colo.; brother, Leon Kezar of Great Falls; and a daughter-inlaw, Carla Peck of Havre; 21 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Memorials can be made to Havre Youth baseball. Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home in Chinook.
