STANLEY GEORGE CHAMBERLAIN SR. Obituary

Stanley George Chamberlain Sr., 83, longtime Chouteau County resident, died Thursday, July 5, 2007, of natural causes at the Sweet Memorial Nursing Home in Chinook.

A public viewing will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p. m. at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. His graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Big Sandy Cemetery with a fellowship luncheon to follow at St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church in Big Sandy. Stan was a native of Minnesota where he worked as a truck driver. Stan served in the Navy during World War II as a diesel machinist and was honorably discharged in 1945. He married Catherine Otto in May of 1958. He moved to Montana with his wife and his three oldest children in 1963. Stan always enjoyed hunting, a hobby he shared with his children especially his son, Stanley. After Stan retired he enjoyed collecting scrap, storytelling and playing pinochle with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Delbert Chamberlain; and three sisters, Florence Schaetzl, Della Armstrong and Mildred Chamberlain. Stan is survived by his wife, Catherine Chamberlain of Loma; his children, Natalie Chamberlain of Fresno, Calif., Elaine Manthey of Great Falls, Annette Rothweiler of Elmira, Ore, Catherine Chamberlian of Nome, Ala., Stanley Chamberlain Jr. Of Belgrade and Amy Woronik of Chinook; sister, Mary Chilgren of Junction City, Ore; and nine grandchildren. Memorial contributions in Stanley's honor may be made to the American Cancer Society 400 15th Avenue South Great Falls, MT 59401. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
