ORLAND FLETCHER NELSON obituary

Orland Fletcher Nelson, 65, of Havre, Montana, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at the Northern Montana Care Center in Havre.

His graveside service will be celebrated Monday afternoon, July 9, 2007, at 1 p.m. at the Big Lake Cemetery in Homestead by Pastor Johnette Grefe. Interment will follow. Friends may gather at the cemetery for the half-hour preceding the service. A Celebration of Orland's life will also be held in Havre Montana at the Havre Eagles Club on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at 5 p.m. Orland Fletcher Nelson was born April 10, 1942 in Culbertson to Oscar and Fern (Morrow) Nelson. He was raised on the family farm near Homestead until the age of fourteen when he moved to Boulder, where he resided for next eighteen years. He then made his way to Havre where he worked at the Havre Recycle Center, Havre Woodshop and the Havre Day Activity Center, for the remainder of his life. He was a member of the Havre Eagles where he liked to perform karaoke with all his friends. Orland also enjoyed football, baseball, rodeo, and participated in Special Olympics. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Duane Nelson; and a sister, Rosemary Christoffersen. Orland is survived by his brothers, Arden (Janet) Nelson of Langley, Wash., Virgil (Gwen) Nelson of Hot Springs, and Melvin (Darlene) Nelson of Williston, N.D.; and by his many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Special Olympics. Arrangements are by The Everson Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Culbertson.
