VELMA MARGUERITE HINEBAUCH STUBER, obituary ANACORTES, Wash.

Velma Marguerite Hinebauch Stuber, 76, died Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at her home in Anacortes surrounded by her loving family.

Viewing will be Friday from 3 to 9 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home in Chinook. Services will be 10 a.m. at the Fifth Avenue Christian Church on Saturday. Stuber was born in Eastend, Sask., Canada, to Walter Earl and Martha Marguerite Hinebauch on April 26, 1931. The family moved to the Havre area in 1945 where they settled and farmed. Stuber graduated from Havre High School in 1950. She married Reinhold Stuber on Feb. 1, 1952, and they raised two children Alan Dale Stuber and Darlene Faye Stuber. In 1968,the family moved to Federal Way, Wash., where they owned and operated a 7-11 store for several years before moving back to Montana in 1973. Stuber lived in Missoula, Great Falls, Havre and Whitefish, where she grew to have many friends. Due to declining health she moved to Mt. Vernon and then Anacortes to live with her daughter. Stuber had a great sense of humor and was loved by so many. She was very creative in arts and crafts, and had become a very accomplished artist. She was extremely involved with her churches throughout her life: Messiah Lutheran Church, Fifth Avenue Church and Skagit Valley Church of Christ. She loved the Lord, her family and all those who she had met. Her children and grandchildren spent the last week of her life with her, enjoying her humor, her wit and the love of her family. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. God blessed our time with her; she will be extremely missed. She was preceded in death by her husband Reinhold Stuber; her mother and father; her sister Dorothy Nelubowich; and an infant brother Roy Hinebauch. Survivers include her son Alan Stuber of Red Lodge; a daughter Darlene Stuber of Anacortes, four grandchildren, Richard and Amy of Missoula, Janal and Dave Martin of Billings; Jennifer Stickland and Ian Munson of Redmond, Wash., Jolene Stickland and Sam Shuck of Bozeman; two sisters Gladys Klundt and Linda Hinebauch; and two brothers Walter and Bill Hinebauch. The family would like to thank Dr. John Mathis, Island Hospital, Skagit Valley Hospice and her church family at Skagit Valley Church of Christ.
