Sharon Halseth Kostelecky, 41, died peacefully at her home in Billings on Thursday, May 24, 2007.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, at Faith Chapel in Billings. She requested that people attending her service wear colorful attire to celebrate her colorful and happy life. Sharon was born Sept. 19, 1995, in St. Paul, Minn., to James and Barbara (Lafrantz) Halseth. She was raised and educated in Chinook and Havre. She graduated from Chinook High School in 1973. She then attended Montana State University, where she received her BA in art education K-12. Sharon then moved to Billings and married Roger Garcia. They had two children and later divorced. Sharon married her best friend and the love of her life, Jack Kostelecky, and they had a son. Sharon worked for Sweet Heart Thrift Stores until she became ill. She played in the city pool league, and she and her partner won many trophies. Sharon enjoyed sewing, gardening, genealogy and being with her grandchildren. Sharon was preceded in death by her grandparents, Nick and Ann Lafrantz, Henry and Hertha Halseth, and her uncle, Gary Halseth. Survivors include her children, Nash Garcia of Berkeley, Calif., Lizabeth (Michael) Mayes of Billings and Jacob Kostelecky of Billings; parents, James Halseth of Chinook and Barbara Lafrantz of Bigfork; three granddaughters; brother, Nick (Sharon) Siebrasse and Jimmy Jay Halseth; sisters, Sandra (Russell) Sorenson and Vicki (Kyle) Hamilton.
