ROBERT MORENO obituary

Robert “Pancho” Moreno, 55, died Friday morning, May 25, 2007, at Northern Montana Hospital of natural causes.

His wake service began 2 p. m. Sunday at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church. His funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church with Father Pete Guthneck officiating. Burial followed at the Rocky Boy Cemetery. Robert was born April 29, 1952, in Havre to Roy Moreno and Kathryn Mildred Denny. He was raised in Havre. He attended Box Elder and Havre Schools and Miles City High School, where he graduated valedictorian of his class. He then attended a votech business school in Billings in 1976. After he graduated, Robert worked at the BIA federal building in Billings as a bookkeeper/ accountant. He also worked at the Native American Center in Havre as a bookkeeper and the Native American Art Gallery. He married Donita Demontiney and had one child with that union. They later divorced. He then met Amber Onstad in February of 1975 and the couple married May 1, 1975, and lived in Billings. They had three children. Robert loved to listen to all types of music, and he enjoyed listening to his niece Misty sing country music. He loved his family, friends and most of all his grandchildren. His mother and he were very close. Robert enjoyed playing the machines. He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing in Beaver Creek Park and watching NFL football. His favorite team was the Chicago Bears. He was very intelligent and loved to read books. His favorite author was John Grisham. Robert was proud to be a Native American and also proud of what he accomplished in life. He liked to work on his truck and joke around and laugh and tease his family and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his mother Kathryn Moreno, father Roy Moreno, brothers: Mark Snowball' Denny, Snuffy' Denny, Clement Joe Moreno, Ritchie Moreno, Vince Moreno, Manuel Moreno, Wesley and Leslie Moreno all of Havre. Survivors include his stepfather, Jack Hines of Havre; children, Danessa Demontiney of Sacramento, Calif., Jathan (Fawn) Moreno of Havre, Rhea Hernandez (Octavio) of Seattle, Wash., Heather Moreno of Havre, Jarren Yazee of Tacoma, Wash., and Connie Moreno of Malta; brothers, Larry Spud' Denny of Rocky Boy and David Moreno, Chicago; sisters, Carma Corcoran of Portland, Ore., Donna Glover of Chicago; 21 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home
