MARY M. BURCHARD KELLEY obituary SPOKANE, Wash.,

Mary M. Burchard Kelley, 71, died Sunday, May 6, 2007, at her home in Spokane.

Viewing was held May 11 at 2 p. m. at Heritage Funeral Home followed by a procession to Spokane Memorial Gardens for the graveside service at 3 p.m. Mary was born Nov. 22, 1935, to Anna Mae and Charles Burchard in Havre. She was one of nine children. Growing up in Havre, surrounded by family and friends, Mary learned the strength of family and small town values, which she taught to her four children, Carleen, Kelly, Thomas and Lora. Mary was warm-hearted, a devoted wife and a loving mother. She always greeted you at the door with a smile and waved a reluctant goodbye from the window. She always put everyone's needs ahead of her own and gave whatever she could without having to be asked or expecting anything in return. Mary's intelligence and wit were unsurpassed. She lovingly nurtured and instilled the desire to learn in her children. Mary moved to Spokane in 1978. In 1989 she married Gary Kelley and they have been devoted to each other for the last 18 years. The love and devotion shared between Mary and Gary knew no bounds and served as an inspiration to all. Mary was preceded in death by her mother, father and brothers, Francis Burchard and James Burchard. Mary is survived by many who loved her including her husband, Gary Kelley; children, Carleen Primm, Kelly Erickson, Lt. Col. Thomas Erickson and Lora Enger; step-children, Gayle Castle, Lawrence Kelley, Patrick Kelley and Julie Kelley; brothers, Vern Burchard and Gerald Burchard; sisters, Alice Mattson, Evelyn Hoffman, Doreen Gault and Peggy Cloke; six grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren. Memorials in Mary's name may be donated to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were made by Heritage Funeral Home in Spokane.
