Cremation has taken place. Her burial will be 2 p.m. Friday, may 18, 2007, at the Highland Cemetery. Harriet was born May 27, 1928 in Redstone, Montana to Frank and Amanda (Johnson) Sherry. She was raised and educated in Redstone and her father ran the Newspaper in Redstone for many years. She moved to the Seattle area in the 1950's. It was there that Harriet married Findley Smith in Tukwilla, Washington in 1962. They lived in Tukwilla for many years until moving to Havre in 1973. Harriet worked the graveyard shift at the Super 8 Motel for fifteen years. She went to work in 2002 at the First Lutheran Daycare retiring in March of 2007 after 5 years. She was wonderful with people, but most of all with children. Harriet loved working at the daycare and caring for the little children. Harriet was an avid reader, she enjoyed watching a good lightning storm and working crossword and jig saw puzzles. She was a die hard Seattle Mariners fan and loved to watch baseball! Although questioning her on baseball wasn't advised because she knew all the statistics of the game. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Findley Smith in 1985; one brother, Frank; and four sisters, Maude, Alice, Blanche and Helen. Harriet is survived by her son, Michael McCourry of Havre; her daughter, Mary Maude Daniels of Vancouver, Washington; one brother, Tom Sherry of Seattle, Washington; several nieces and nephews; and three grandchildren Memorial contributions in Harriet's honor may be made to the First Lutheran Day Care, P.
