JENNILEE FOUTS obituary

TURNER Jennilee Fouts, 44, died Monday, May 7, 2007, at the Sweet Memorial Nursing Home after a long illness.

Her funeral service was 11 a. m. Saturday, May 12, 2007, at the Turner High School Gymnasium with Pastor C h e r y l Hoops officia t i n g . Burial followed at the T u r n e r Cemetery. A fellowship r e c e p t i o n followed at the committal service at the Turner High School Gym. Jennilee was born Sept. 21, 1962, Leo and Roxie (Newell) Petrie in Havre. She grew up in Turner and attended schools there. Her mother died when Jennilee was 12 and she was raised by her stepmother, Mary. After graduation from Turner High School in 1980 she attended Eastern and NMC and graduated with a degree in business. After college she worked at the Havre Clinic and later for State Farm Insurance. She married Chester Fouts in Turner on July 11, 1987. To this union three children were born. She was an active member of the Turner American Lutheran Church and the Big Flat Ambulance crew as an EMT. She enjoyed playing the piano, guitar, singing, and in her last few years she really enjoyed latch hooking. She loved her family as well as life, always with a smile and a kind word for everyone. Later in life she was diagnosed with PallidonPonto-Nigral- Degeneration (PPND), a very aggressive neural disorder, which eventually took her life. As she lived with this disease she still had a kind word and a smile for everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her father Leo Petrie; mother, Roxie Petrie; brother, George “Buck” Petrie; and sister, Peggy Kaelber. Jennilee is survived by her husband Chester Fouts; children, Logan, Taylor and Shandel Fouts; all of Turner; stepparents Bill and Mary Hake of Turner, brother, Clarence “Bum” (Linda) Petrie of Malta; and sisters, Patty (Campbell) Ridley of Columbia, Tenn., and Penny (Joe) Fitzpatrick of Malta. Memorials in Jennilee's honor may be made to the PPND Research Foundation and the Big Flat Community Development Fund. Services are under the direction of Edward's Funeral Home of Chinook.
