CUT BANKWilliam Lee Wynn, 86, retired oil field supervisor and World War II veteran, of Cut Bank died Thursday, April 19, 2007, at his home of complications following a lengthy battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held today at 2 p.m., at the Hi Line Funeral Home in Cut Bank, with his grandson Tim Wynn officiating. Internment will take place at the Chapel Hills Cemetery, Littleton, Colo., at a later date. Bill was born Oct. 8, 1920, in Shoshone, Wyo., to Harry Thomas and Hattie (Robinson) Wynn. He was raised and received his education in Thermopolis, Wyo., and graduated from Thermopolis High School in 1938. On Oct. 5, 1941, he married Loretta Robinson in Thermopolis. Bill enlisted with the U.S. Army during WWII and served in the South Pacific from 1943-1945. He was a field supervisor for Phillips Petroleum, retiring in 1980. An avid outdoorsman, Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing. He enjoyed his family and had a passion for old cars. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 60 years Loretta E. Wynn in 2001; two sisters; and two brothers. Survivors include his sons, Patrick A. (Jolene) Wynn, of Hazen, N.D., and Marcus L. Wynn, of Havre; sister, Irene Rice, of Fort Collins, Colo.; four grandchildren; and eight greatgrandchildren.
