Jennie Elizabeth Burr Stone, 99, of Havre died Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at Northern Montana Hospital from natural causes.
Cremation has taken place and private graveside services will be conducted at a later date. Jennie was born January 21, 1908 in Clearwater, Kan., to Charles and Sophia (Ploss) McDonald. Jennie attended schools in Montana and Washington. She married Calvin Burr on July 25, 1925 in Tacoma, Wash. To this union two children were born Calvin Jr., and Elenor. Calvin and Jennie celebrated 54 years of marriage before his pasing in 1979. Jennie later married Ralph Stone in 1983, he passed away in 1999. Besides being a wife and mother, Jennie worked for the Naval Torpedo station in Key Port, Wash., during World War II. She was a 50 year member of Eastern Star and attained the honor of Grand Matron. Jennie loved to travel and was an avid golfer, she was a talented seamstress and enjoyed working in her flower garden. Jennie especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Jennie was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Ray McDonald; sister, Dorothy Jarrett; daughter, Elenor Bruce; great grandchildren, Lee Ann Murri, Amy Bruce and Arthur Dukes. Survivors include her son and daugher-in-law, Calvin and Charlotte Burr of Havre; grandchildren, Karen (Val) Murri of Havre, Paul Burr of Havre, Barbara (Michael) Mansfield of Whitefish, Diane (Jeff) Dukes of Ocean Shores, Wash., Michael Bruce of Albuquerque, N.M., Patrick (Karen) Bruce of Paulsbo, Wash.; nine great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.
