DARRYL BLACK obituary

MALTA Darryl William Black, 70, an Army veteran and retired boiler engineer of Malta, died Saturday, March 17, 2007, at the Phillips County Hospital of natural causes.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p. m. today at the Hillside Cemetery in Dodson. A luncheon at the Dodson Lutheran Church will follow the service. Darryl was born May 25, 1936, in Malta to William and Bessie (Stout) Black. He was raised and educated in Dodson and graduated from Dodson High School and attended Northern Montana College. He earned a degree and worked as a boiler engineer. He worked in Dodson and Columbia Falls. He served two years in the Army in the late 1950s. Darryl loved to visit with everyone and never met a stranger. Darryl was an organ donor and his wishes were fulfilled after his death. Darryl was preceded in death by his parents; and loving son, James Anthony Black. Survivors include his children, Jenny Ann Black of Missoula, Jacqueline Annete (Terry Ziegler) Black of Toledo, Ohio, Julie May Black of El Paso, Texas, and Jill Marie (Curt Anderson) Black of Corvallis; brothers, Don (Pat) Black and James (Lavone) Black both of Billings, and John (Kathy) Black of Oregon; four grandchildren; and one greatgranddaughter. Memorials may be made to the Malta Ambulance Services. Adams Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
