GLEN NEPIL obituary

BIG SANDY/MILES CITY Glen Nepil, 59, of Miles City died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at his home in Miles City following a courageous battle against brain cancer.

A prayer service was held Monday evening at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. His funeral services will be held at 1p. m. today at Grace Bible Church in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 2, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at the High School Auditorium in Big Sandy, Montana. Glen was born on Nov. 13, 1947, in Havre to of Jerry Jay and Mary Ann (Cowan) Nepil. He attended Hopp country school through the sixth grade. He completed his education in the Big Sandy Public Schools where he graduated from high school. Following graduation, he attended MSU Northern in Havre, majoring in agriculture. While in college, he enlisted in the Air National Guard in which he served for six years. In 1968, he married Karen Heen in Big Sandy. Following their marriage, they worked on the family farm at Big Sandy. In 1978, Glen and his brother Cliff bought the family farm, which he continued to help manage until the time of his death. In July of 2001, Glen and Karen moved to Miles City, where Glen worked in carpentry and construction. He took great pride in everything he did and maintained the attitude that he could fix anything. Because he was a very giving person, he loved to donate his talents and services to help others in need. Glen was an outfitter and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Glen's family was very important to him. One of Glen's highlights was his and Karen's trip to Thailand, where they spent four months on a mission with Youth With A Mission. Glen loved people and was very personable. He never knew a stranger. Glen had a caring heart for his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Karen of Miles City; parents Jerry and Ann Nepil of Miles City; daughters, Kimberly (Marcus) Brown of Eagan, Minnesota, Karli (Victor) Phillips of Big Sandy and Kristi Kyllo of Great Falls; brother, Cliff (Michelle) Nepil of Crawford, Miss .; sisters, Jan (Jack) Nesbit of Miles City and Blanche (Del) Saeman of Great Falls; and nine grandchildren.
