PEGGY JACKSON obituary

LODGE POLE Peggy Jo Jackson, 56, of Lodge Pole died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, in Billings due to natural causes.

Her funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Chief Nosey Center with burial following in the Big Warm Cemetery. A wake will begin on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Chief Nosey Center. Peggy Jo was born Nov. 15, 1950, at Fort Belknap Agency to Theodore and Ruby (Has Eagle) Messerly. Peggy Jo was raised and attended school in Lodge Pole and attended College of Great Falls. She was a Head Start teacher's aide for five years, and cook's helper for two years. She loved to clean and decorate her house for holidays, cook for all activities, just loved to work with children and community. She was a good green thumb worker. Peggy Jo was proud of her grandchild, Mindy McCabe, and was always taking care of other children who came to her. She would take care of them until someone else came forward to care for them. Peggy Jo also raised her niece BJ, looked after Darren Dean (Lil Grease) Loren and CJ Bell and Marty Lone Bear (Ten Skins). Her favorite horses were Checie and Ole Helen. She adored horses and loved to do mechanic work on vehicles. She was always fixing up things that others had given up on and would make them work, and she loved to give food away to those that needed it. Peggy Jo was preceded in death by father, Theodore “Babe” Messerly; husband, Robert (Beaneferd) Wing; grandparents, Victoria and Zeke Has Eagle; sisters Vera Cliff, Justine First Smoke, Judy Messerly and Edwina First Smoke; aunt, Maxine Gardipee; brothers, Teddy and Billy Messerly; uncles, Gilbert, Wilfred and Gary Has Eagle; and niece, Angel Denny. Survivors include her husband, Stuart Healy of Lodge Pole; daughter, Jamie (Thomas) McCabe of Lodge Pole; son, Mark Chosa of Billings; mother, Ruby First Smoke of Lodge Pole; stepfather, Percy Plumage of Lodge Pole; sisters, Nadine Canaday of Washington, Dorcas Wing of Lodge Pole, LeeAnn First Smoke of Great Falls and Ray Ann Gardipee of California; brother, Delbert Jackson Sr. Of Billings; aunts, Darlene Parisian and Christine (Daniel) Long Fox, both of Lodge Pole; half-sisters, Sandy, Cindy, Pam and Karla Messerly all of Idaho; half-brothers, Fred, Jr. And Jimmy Messerly of Idaho; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
