SHADYA obituary

TILLEMOOK, Ore. - Shadya, 77, died Jan. 10, 2007, at her home in Tillamook, Ore.

She was born Betty Lou Caughey, and later was given the name Shadya (which means song of God or messenger of God) by Nubian villagers in Egypt with whom she was living. She is survived by her son Tim Bell of Bozeman. A celebration of Shadya's life was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, at St. Albans Episcopal Church in Tillamook, Ore. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105. Arrangements are in care of Waud's Funeral Home, Tillamook, Ore.
