SUSIE ANDRILENAS obituary

PLENTYWOOD Susie Andrilenas, 91, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at Riverside Health Center.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held Jan. 27 at St. Francis Xavier Church. Inurnment will be at a later date in Plentywood. Susie was born Aug. 2, 1915, to Annie Weydert and Mathias Zeimet in Bode, Iowa. When she was 7, her mother died, and she was raised by her grandparents until she was 10. Then she became cook and caregiver for her father and two younger siblings. In 1935, Susie married Prosper Frideres at St. Joseph, Iowa. Prosper died in 1952. A year later, Susie traveled with her daughter to Medicine Lake to meet a college friend. There she met Ed Andrilenas and they were married in 1954. Susie and Ed had a farm outside Medicine Lake where they raised wheat, cattle and their seven children. Susie was a lifetime member of the Catholic Daughters of America and was very committed to her church, St. Patrick Parish in Medicine Lake. She served as Altar Society president, parish council member and catechism teacher for the younger children. She loved to bake and cook. A highlight of her life was traveling to Canada with friends to see the pope. After Ed's death, Susie moved to Missoula, where she resided at Grizzly Peak and later at Hunter's Glen. Susie was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; brother, Eugene; sister, Elizabeth; and grandson, Jhohn Riel Frideres. Survivors include her children, Marlene (Gil) Koch and Darrell (Char) Frideres of Missoula, James (Carol) Frideres of Calgary, Alberta, Larry (Mary Beth) Frideres of Helena, Ed (Andrea) Andrilenas Jr. Of North Plains, Ore., and Annette (Sid) Waller and Maria Andrilenas of Plentywood; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Frank Rathke of Iowa and Paul Andrilenas of Virginia; sistersin- law, Christina Zeimet of Iowa and Helen Sebastian of Great Falls; special niece Connie (Gerry) Klecker; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorials can be made to a charity of one's choice.
