PAULINE WINCHELL obituary

Pauline I. Winchell, 88, of Havre died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007, at Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes.

Cremation will take place. Her memorial service will be 9 a. m. Saturday at Immanuel Baptist Church with Pastor David Herndon officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Pauline “Polly” was born May 30, 1918, in Havre to Howard and Hatti (Beaty) Wagner. She was one of 12 children. Polly was raised and educated in Havre and graduated from Havre High School. She worked as a checker at Buttrey Foods for many years and was also employed by Kmart as a clerk. Pauline married Charles (Ed) Winchell on Sept. 25, 1936, in Chinook. The couple made their home in Havre and raised seven children. Polly loved to camp and fish in Beaver Creek Park. She also enjoyed gardening. At the care center, she was a member of the Red Hat Society. She attended church services there and participated in many of the social activities, bingo being her favorite. Polly was a very kind woman who made friends easily. She had many friends at the care center. Polly was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles (Ed) Winchell in 1990; sons, Bill and Bob Winchell; daughter, Betty Teela; six sisters; four brothers; and one great-greatgrandson, Devon Habeger in 2000. Survivors include her sons, Dick (Carol) Winchell of Great Falls, Jim (Jackie) Winchell of Laurel and Vic (Beverley) Winchell of Havre; daughter, Isabell (Karl) Strohschein of Riverside, Calif .; sister, Irene Miller of Clear Lake, Iowa; brother, Ezra (Angel) Wagner of Havre; 30 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions in Pauline's honor may be made to the Northern Montana Care Center, c/o Judy Solomon, P.O. Box 1231, Havre, MT 59501 or to a memorial of one's choice. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
