REBECCA HENRY obituary

Rebecca Jean Henry, 23, of Havre, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, as a result of a vehicle accident.

Viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today through Thursday at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held at 2 p. m. Friday at Messiah Lutheran Church in Havre with Pastor Michale Dahle officiating. Becky was born March 16, 1983, in Havre to William and Marilyn (Brandt) Henry. She grew up in Havre and attended First Lutheran Preschool, Devlin Elementary School and Havre Middle School. She transferred to KG High School as a freshman and graduated from KG in 2001. Becky was an outdoors and sports person. She played softball from T-ball through middle school. She loved being a KG Lady Cougar and her senior year won the Best Field Goal Percentage Trophy. She pole vaulted, put shot and threw discus in track. She also received many academic and music awards. Folf and flag football were her favorite college activities. Bowling was also a major part of her life. She bowled from bantam through high school, qualifying for several tournaments and placing in many of them. The highlight of her life was going hunting and fishing with her dad. They developed a deep relationship with each other while her mom was confined to the hospital and long-term care because of a muscle disease when Becky was 3. She rode on his shoulders during bird hunting. At 6 years old, she caught a 10 pound 7 ounce walleye. At 12, she shot her first whitetail buck. Her first elk permit resulted in a three-horned six-point bull elk when she was 13. She was unsuccessful at filling her mountain goat tag two years ago. Hunting antelope was always a thrill and she was successful every year she had a permit. Gophers were always in danger when she got the chance to go out. Becky's world revolved around music. She loved all kinds of music. Nothing was more fun than a room full of friends and a karaoke machine. She went to Montana State University-Northern in hopes of getting a teaching degree in music, but Northern was not approved for that degree and she switched her major to business. She was asked to be coordinator of the newly developed Lutheran Campus Ministry at Northern. She enjoyed helping as a DJ at the college dances. Due to a fourwheeler accident, she dropped out of college. She worked at Taco John's while going to college and later went to work for Kentucky Fried Chicken/A&W. She worked her way through the testing to become manager in the fall of 2006. Becky was baptized in 1983 at Hingham Lutheran Church and confirmed at Messiah Lutheran Church were she remained a member. She was always willing to help with Sunday school and vacation Bible school, especially with the music. She was very good with little kids and made sure they were having fun. She also volunteered for the church nursery as often as she could. Her summers included a week at Flathead Lutheran Bible camp for many years. It was a great inspiration for her. She had a deep sense of God in her life even through periods of trials and testing. The gift of friendship knew no bounds for Becky. She would do anything for her friends and give them anything she had to offer. Her sense of living her faith was her way of life. Becky was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Robert Brandt. Survivors include her parents, Bill and Marilyn Henry of Havre; grandparents, Katherine Brandt of Rudyard and James and Eldora Henry of Dodson; paternal uncles, Steve (Judy) Henry of Billings, Art (Sandi) Henry of Havre, Roger (Jackie) Henry of Indiana; paternal aunts, Shirley Winn of Butte, Linda (Ray) Volk of East Helena, Karen (Bud) Cribley of Virginia, Cheryl (Cliff) Clawiter of Fort Benton, Teresa Leys of Belgrade; maternal uncles, Bob Brandt of Clinton, Clyde (Toni) Brandt of Havre, Gary (Margaret) Brandt of Great Falls, Darryn Brandt of Havre, Jim (Theresa) Brandt of Great Falls; maternal aunt, Karen (David) Watson of Rudyard; numerous cousins and very special friends; her Siamese cat, Spunky; and her golden retriever, Kayle. Memorials may be made to Flathead Lutheran Bible Camps, Messiah Lutheran Church or to one's choice. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
