VIVIAN JOB obituary

GREAT FALLS Viv Job, 64, of Great Falls died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, after an extraordinary battle against cancer.

Visitation will be at O'Connor Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to 7 p. m. Friday, followed by a wake for Viv at 7 p.m. at O'Connor Funeral Home. Viv's funeral liturgy will be held at St. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church on Saturday at 1 p.m. Viv was born in Missoula on Nov. 18, 1942, to Edward and Hilda Loos. She was the middle child of three raised in a working class home. Viv was a graduate from Missoula's Sacred Heart Academy in 1960. After graduating, she married her high school sweetheart, Leo Job, on Dec. 31, 1960. Leo was a bakery supervisor for Buttrey Foods and moved the family to Great Falls in 1972. Along with Gary and Georgia Leland, Viv and Leo opened the first Gary and Leo's IGA in Havre in 1986. They successfully went on to open stores in Conrad, Butte and Florence. After many moves around the state, the Jobs retired in Great Falls to spend time with their friends and family. Viv was always smiling and generous to everyone, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed gambling, playing cards, camping, boating and going to University of Montana Grizzly games with Leo. Most of all, she was born to be a grandma. Viv was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leo; and her parents, Edward and Hilda Loos. Survivors include her sons, Tracy of Havre and Darin (Lynn) Job of Missoula; daughters, Paula (Dirk) Sandefur of Great Falls, Tawna (John “Nick”) Egan of Meridian, Idaho, and Nicole (Brian) Roberts of Helena; 16 grandchildren; sister, Vonda (Roland) Hall of Post Falls, Idaho; and brother, Victor Loos of Seattle, Wash. Viv and Leo's laughter was contagious. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Peace Hospice of Great Falls or the Special Olympics.
