PHILLIP BITTERNOSE obituary

FORT BELKNAP Phillip F. “Cricket” Bitternose Jr., 44, a construction worker, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007, at the Veteran Hospital in Denver of pneumonia.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Two Kill Catholic Church in Lodge Pole. Burial with military honors will be in the Lodge Pole Cemetery. Phillip was born Dec. 30, 1962, to Phillip Floyd Bitternose Sr. And Joyce Mae Brisbo. He was raised in Zurich by his foster parents, Lawrence and Delilah Mord, after his mother died in an accident in 1965. After he completed his education, he work as a ranch hand and broke horses. Phillip joined the Army on April 21, 1986, and was discharged on Oct. 2, 1989. He worked as a laborer in construction around Blaine County and elsewhere. Cricket enjoyed working with horses and riding them. Phillip was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Mae Brisbo in 1965; grandmother, Jeanette Brisbo Cochran; and foster parents, Lawrence and Delilah Mord. Survivors include his sisters, Becky Brisbo-Stiffarm of Fort Belknap, Dovey Nelson and Dolly Young of Missoula and Wanda Mord of Portland, Ore.; father, Phillip F. Bitternose Sr. Of Canada; uncles, Dan Healy of Lodge Pole and Chan Healy of Malta; aunt, Sharon Healy of Lodge Pole. Adams Funeral Home of Malta is in charge of arrangements.
