CHESTER ROCHOWICZ obituary

Chester Marion Rochowicz, 75, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at Sweet Memorial Nursing Home of natural causes.

A memorial Mass will be held in Chester's honor on Saturday at 5 p.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church with Father Robert D. Grosch officiating. A fellowship will be held at the North Central Senior Citizens Center, 2 Second St. W., Havre, immediately after the service. Chester was born Feb. 3, 1931, in Adina, Ohio to Zigmunt and Mary (Szymanski) Rochowicz. He graduated from high school and Kent State University, and then entered the Air Force in December of 1950. He served in the Air Force for four years and was honorably discharged as a sergeant in 1954. He received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Chester enjoyed walking and became a familiar figure to the Havre community. He was deeply appreciative of those who helped him during his recent illness. He was often of a generous nature, both with thoughts and possessions, to those who assisted him. He was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. Chester was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Richard Rochowicz and Benjamin Rochowicz. Survivors include his many friends in the community; brother, Harry (Nancy) Roch of Great Falls; sister, Mary Ann (Robert) Garapic of Cleveland, Ohio; niece, Kathryn (Roger) Holt of Havre; five additional nieces and two nephews; and his many grandnieces and grandnephews. Memorials in Chester's honor can be made to St. Jude Thaddeus School. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
