Edgar A. Dobrenz, 80, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at the Veteran's Hospital in Helena of natural causes.
Cremation will take place and his memorial service will be 1 p. m. Tuesday January 30, 2007 at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Ulgenes officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Highland Cemetery. A fellowship will follow the graveside service at the Eagles Club. Edgar was born May 24, 1926, in Sheboygan, Wis., to August and Frances (Le Barron) Dobrenz. He was raised and educated in Augusta, Wis. He entered into the U.S. Army in October of 1944 at Fort Knox, Ky. He served in World War II, stationed in Okinawa and then Korea. He was honorably discharged on Oct. 30, 1946, as a Tech 4. Edgar came to Montana in 1946. He worked for Rawly Smith on his ranch for 10 years, worked for Big Sky Propane for several years and then went to work for McIntosch Seeds until he retired. Edgar enjoyed hunting and having coffee at PJ's. Edgar was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lillian Cronick and Irene Dobrenz; and brothers, Charles Dobrenz and Irvin Dobrenz. Survivors include several nieces, nephews and cousins; all of his friends; and his caretakers, Terry and Brenda Cremer. Memorial contributions in Edgar's honor may be made to a memorial of one's choice. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
