ANNE DIPPY obituary

MALTA Anne C. Dippy, 101, a retired school teacher, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at a Malta nursing home of natural causes.

Her funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with interment in the Malta Cemetery. Anne was born June 20, 1905, in Ellensburg, Wash., to Jesse C. and Cora C. (Grim) Poland. She was raised and educated in Ellensburg. After high school, she attended Washington Central Teacher College for two years. She moved to Montana in 1929 and taught at the Tolleffeson School north of Saco. She also taught rural schools in Valley, Phillips and Blaine counties. Anne married John L. Dippy Jr. On June 2, 1952, in Havre. She retired in 1967 from the Turner Schools after 42 years of teaching. She and John moved to Austin, Texas, for a time. John died Oct. 6, 1972, and she moved to Malta in 1989. Anne enjoyed reading, television, collecting knick-knacks, and playing the piano. Anne was a very sweet and giving person with an unforgettable cute giggle. Survivors include her nephew, Jerry Maloney of Malta; niece Elaine (Maloney) Campbell of Chinook; niece, Audrey (Simms) Brandvik of Forsyth and her family; nephew, Arlyn Simms of Arlee; great-nieces and greatnephews, Denise (Bruce) Boothe of Joliet, Jim Maloney, Gene (Sheila) Maloney of Shelby, Debra Maloney of Phoenix, Ariz., Gerald Maloney of Hysham, Mike Maloney of Missoula,Kevin (Rita) Campbell of Chinook, Patrick Campbell of Chinook, Colleen Campbell of New York City; and numerous other out-ofstate nieces and nephews. Adams Funeral Home of Malta is in charge of arrangements.
