JOAN BRITT obituary

Joan M. Britt, 81, of Havre died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, at a Havre care center of natural causes.

Cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Northern Montana Care Center with Ila McClenahan officiating. Interment of the cremated remains will be held at the Fort Harrison Veterans Cemetery in Helena on March 20. Joan was born June 7, 1925, at Helena to Frank Joseph and Agnes (Lorance) Lang. She was raised and educated in Helena, attending St. Helena School and the Ursuline Sisters School in Great Falls. She worked at the Helena Phone Co., a hotel in Helena and the Parrot Candy Store. Joan attended Carroll College and studied business. She married Frank Britt in Helena in 1944. Frank worked for the Great Northern Railway and the couple lived in Great Falls for two years before moving to Havre. Joan's hobbies were bingo and playing the piano and her accordian. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she enjoyed spoiling them with their favorite candy. Joan's favorite treats were her Big Red Gum and Lifesavers which she would gladly share with her friends. Joan was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank Britt and three brothers. Survivors include her son, Joseph (Robin) Britt of Helena; daughters, Tina St. Marks of Havre, Becky Britt of Havre, Merry Britt of Savannah, Ga., and Ruth (Kelly) Converse of Great Falls; brother, Henry (Sharon) Lang of Helena; cousin, Merna Smith of Helena; numerous nieces and nephews; 10 grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
