LAURA LEE FREDERICK obituary

Laura Lee Frederick, 78, of Havre died of cancer Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007, at her home with her family.

A formal viewing and visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p. m. Tuesday at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Cremation will take place and her memorial service will be 2 p. m. Wednesday at Messiah Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Dahle officiating. A fellowship will be held at the church immediately following the service. Laura Lee was born March 1, 1928, to George and Evelyn Habeger in Browning. She attended schools in Turner, Fort Peck and Havre and was employed by Buttreys after high school where she was active in Thespians, Pep Club and Glee Club. She had a beautiful voice and sang for many clubs and events over the years. Laura Lee married Fred Frederick on Sept. 16, 1946, at First Lutheran Church in Havre. They moved to Missoula, where Freddie was stationed in the Army. They moved to Lemmon, S. D., for two years and then returned to Havre. When her children started school, Laura Lee went to work for the City of Havre Treasurer and the Water Department. She was active in her church choir, PTA, was a Brownie leader and room mother for many years. Laura Lee enjoyed cooking, all arts and crafts, crocheting, crossword puzzles, and was a talented artist. She loved her Beaver Creek cabin, “Pond o' Roses,” where she entertained family and friends for many years. Laura Lee was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ernestine Tuck; sister-in-law Maryhelen Habeger; and brothers- in-law, Bill Marquardt and Emden Granell. Survivors include her adoring husband, Fred; daughter, Dixie (Tony) English; son, Bill (Tammy) Frederick; grandchildren, Angi Bender, Frank, Joe and Bryan English and Emi (Mike) Moore; great-grandchildren, Brad, Joey and Gabby Bender, Meriel English and Ricky Moore; sisters, Mary Jane (Glenn) Morgan of Merritt Island, Fla., and Carolyn Marquardt of Havre; brothers, John (Ruth) Habeger of Billings and Dick Habeger of Havre; brother-in-law, Gayle Tuck; and many cherished nieces and nephews. Memorials in Laura Lee's honor may be made to Bear Paw Hospice or to the Sletten Cancer Center c/o NMH 30 13th St. W., Havre, MT 59501. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
