RITA OLSZEWSKI obituary

Rita Mae Olszewski, 53, of Zap, N. D., died at her home due to natural causes.

Her funeral service will be Wednesday evening in Zap, and rosary will be at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Harlem at 7 p. m. Thursday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday in the Harlem High School Little Gymnasium. Burial will follow in the Harlem Cemetery. Rita was born Sept. 18, 1953, in Havre to Ed and Rose (Andrews) Grill. She was raised in Harlem and graduated from Harlem High School. Rita married Clarence Olszewski on New Year's Eve, Dec. 31, 1971, in Harlem. She was very involved in her church in Harlem and Zap. Rita was a Sunday school teacher in both churches and worked as a teacher's aide in the Zap School System. She and her husband are owners of Olszewski Inc., a company hauling ash from a coal power plant at Beulah, N.D. Rita enjoyed gardening and also planting in her greenhouse. Rita and Clarence are known as the best sauerkraut and horseradish makers. She loved their grandchildren, fishing and traveling in their motor home the last few years. Survivors include her husband, Clarence Olszewski of Zap, N.D.; daughters, Brandi (Jeff) Hafner of Beaumont, Calif., and Tara (Jeremy) Miller of Saginaw, Texas; four grandchildren; father, Ed Grill; sisters, Sally (Dan) O'Leary and Patsy (Ken) Shelhamer of Harlem, Gloria (Jerry) Jansma of Ponca City, Okla., and Sherri (Craig) Manley, of Robertsdale, Ala.; mother-inlaw, Kathleen Olszewski of Havre; brother-in-law, Joe (Karen) Olszewski of Mount Lake Terrace, Wash.; and sister-in-law, Eileen (Hugh) Hutton of Sidney. Arrangements are by Seibel Funeral Home of Beulah, N.D., and Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
