MARGARET ANDERSON obituary

Margaret R. Anderson, 86, of Havre died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006, at Northern Montana Hospital of natural causes.

Cremation has taken place and her memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Van Orsdel United Methodist Church with Pastor Richard Rice officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the Eagles immediately after the services at the graveside. Margaret was born July 4, 1920, in Hopkins, Minn., to Carl and Rose (Weyh) Schmidt. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Montana. She was raise and educated in the Havre area. Margaret married Clarence E. Anderson on Oct. 11, 1944, in Havre. The couple lived in Oceanside, Calif., until his discharge from the Marine Corps. They returned to north Havre, where they farmed and ranched for many years. Clarence and Margaret enjoyed ranching, raising Hereford cattle, and attending cattle sales, especially the Denver Stock Show. Margaret's passion were her horses; she loved to go riding. Margaret had a special place in her heart for many animals, including dogs, cats, horses and cows. She enjoyed traveling, playing keno, baking cakes and collecting horse figurines. She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile, Eagles, Northern Country Cowbells, Eastern Star Chapter 23 in Chinook and the National Hereford Association. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence E. Anderson in 1998; sister, Florence Linquist 2003; and numerous cousins. Survivors include her cousins and many special friends. Memorial contributions in Margaret's honor may be made to Project Hope P.O. Box 5927 Helena, MT 59604 or to a memorial of one's choice. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
