DEVONA WIEWECK obituary

Devona G. “Toni” Wieweck, 71, of Havre died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006, at her home of natural causes.

Her memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Fifth Avenue Christian Church with Pastor Rowlie Hutton officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery. A fellowship will be held at the V. F.W. Club immediately after the services at the graveside. Toni was born June 20, 1935, in Stanley, N. D., to Thomas and Genevieve (Pettingail) Mahle. When she was an infant, her family moved to Anaconda, where she was raised and educated. Toni worked as a bookkeeper in Anaconda. She married Matt Pozega at Anaconda in 1964. They moved to Kalispell and then to Havre in 1969. The couple later divorced. Toni worked as a bartender for Andy's Supper Club, the Eagles Club and the V.F.W. She met Richard Wieweck and the couple married in 1980, Dick died in June of 2001. Toni enjoyed bowling, camping, traveling, fishing and playing cards, especially pinochle. She was a member of the V.F.W. and the Eagles Auxiliary's and the Red Hot Mama's Red Hat Society. Toni gave many years of service and dedication to the V.F.W. She was honored for her service on Memorial Day of 2006. She was a wonderful friend, mother and grandmother. She was a very courageous person who enjoyed life and had many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son Michael Koleff; son in-law Melvin Erickson; brothers Therin Mahle, Kenneth Mahle and Dale Mahle and sister Dolores Reiss. Toni is survived by her children, Tim (Carmen) Wyant of Swan Lake, Matt (Melinda) Pozega of Havre, Tammy Pozega of Havre and Kurt Pozega of Havre; stepchildren, David Wieweck of Denton and Christine (Peter) Barker of Edmonton, Australia; brother, Neil Mahle of Missoula; sister Mata Campbell of Butte; sisters-in-law, Madilon Mahle of Havre and Ruth Mahle of St. Ignatious; brother-innlaw, Ralph Reiss of Anaconda; special friend, Dean Taylor; and grandchildren, Brooke McLeann, Aaron Erickson, Jay Darrah, Cassi Darrah and Somer Messerly all of Havre. Memorial contributions in Toni's honor may be made to Bear Paw Hospice or to the Gift of Life. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
