VIOLA FLUSS obituary

TERRY Viola (Cashatt) Fluss, 86, of Terry, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2006, from congestive heart failure and cancer.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1 to 7

p. m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Terry. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church in Terry. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City. Vi was born Feb. 4, 1920, to Charles and Katherine Sindelar on their farm near Allen. She graduated from Cohagen High School in 1937. Edward Cashatt and Vi were married May 17, 1939. They had three daughters. During their early years of marriage, Ed was employed in various states. They returned to Montana in 1945 and resided in Miles City, where Ed was employed with the Milwaukee Railroad. In 1960, the family moved to Terry with Ed's employment with Fish and Wildlife. Ed died Jan. 14, 1967. Vi worked briefly at the Prairie County Hospital and the post office before going to work at the courthouse as deputy clerk and recorder and deputy clerk of court from 1969 until 1983, when she retired. Jay Fluss and Vi were married Dec. 10, 1981. Jay and Vi enjoyed their time together until Jay's death in July of 1988. Vi loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren. Her appreciation of nature was passed down to her family. Vi also loved all Terry sports and tried never to miss her grandchildren's events. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and playing Scrabble. Survivors include her daughters, Gail (Vic) Lewis of Deer Lodge, Linda (Raymond) Strasheim of Terry, and Cathy (Steve) Jamruszka of Havre; grandchildren, Paul Milner of Seattle, Christy Keto (Norton Pease) of Havre, Kerri Strasheim of Belgrade and Lynn Strasheim of Missoula; greatgrandsons, Kaden and Jolen Keto of Havre; sisters, Cary Zook and Tudi Jones; and numerous nephews and nieces.
