JOSEPH DIVISH obituary

Joseph Vincent Divish, 91, of Havre died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes.

Cremation has taken place. His memorial Mass will be held at 2 p. m. Monday at St. Jude Catholic Church with Father Robert D. Grosch officiating. A fellowship social will be held immediately after the service at St. Jude Parish Center. A private family burial will be held. Joseph was born July 20, 1915, at Goldstone, near Hingham, to Joseph and Mary (Kupka) Divish. He was raised and attended school in Hingham and graduated from Hingham High School in 1934. Joe enlisted in the United States Army in 1942 and completed radio operator and mechanic courses in Sioux Falls, S. D. He served during World War II and was stationed in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was honorably discharged in 1945. Joe married Cleo Gallus on Feb. 24, 1949, in Havre. They raised their family in Havre, where Joe worked for nearly 40 years in the boiler and maintenance department at Sacred Heart Hospital. Joe enjoyed fly fishing, hunting, dancing, working in the yard and building things with wood. He was a wonderful father and grandfather and was always there to help others when needed. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Fraternal Order of Eagles. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Divish; wife, Cleo; sister, Sister Marcia Divish; brother, Frank Divish; and granddaughter, Deana Divish Keyser. Survivors include his son, Dale (Verna) Divish of Spokane, Wash.; daughters, Darlene Divish of Havre and Jolene (Dick) Hanson of Havre; brother, Edward (Louise) Divish of Havre; sister-in-law, Joan Divish of Salem, Ore.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions in Joseph's honor may be made to St. Jude School. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
