Dolores “Dodie” Laughnan, 77, of Havre died Monday, Oct. 16, 2006, at Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes.
Her funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Jude Catholic Church with Father Robert D. Grosch officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Havre. A fellowship luncheon will be held at St. Jude Parish Center immediately after the services at the graveside. Dolores was born June 26, 1929, at the family home in Havre. She attended St. Jude School and graduated from Havre Central High School. After high school, Dodie worked for Clack's Store, where she met her husband, Lloyd Laughnan. The couple married Sept. 17, 1949, in Havre. They made their home in Havre and raised their two children. Lloyd farmed north of Kremlin. Dodie was a very sociable person. She loved having her friends over to play cards and visit. She enjoyed playing bingo, shopping and traveling. She even traveled to Europe. She was a member of the Eagles and VFW Auxiliary, Catholic Daughters, Hospital Auxiliary, and was a life master in bridge. Dodie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd, in 1983; and brothers, Robert and Walter Davis. Survivors include her children Michael (Edie) Laughnan of Missoula and Laurie (Percy) Nordrum of Gildford; seven grandchildren; brothers, Bill (Kendra) Davis of Malibu, Calif., and Joe Davis of Havre; sisters, Mary (Mike) Donahue of St. Paul, Minn., and Janet Porter of Seattle, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions in Dodie's honor may be made to the Catholic Daughters, Knights Of Columbus, The PCCW or to a memorial of one's choice. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
