KAREN MOREHOUSE obituary

GALVESTON, Texas Karen Pierson Moorehouse, 47, died Aug. 6, 2006, in Galveston, Texas, of a staph Infection.

Cremation has taken place in Galveston and her memorial graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, at Highland Cemetery in Havre with Father Robert D. Grosch officiating. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the St. Jude Parish Center immediately after the graveside service. Karen was born Oct. 21, 1958, in Havre to Mel and Mame Pierson. She attended schools in Havre and graduated from Havre High School in 1977. Karen married K. Frank Moorehouse of Havre in 1979. She worked for BNSF for two years until Frank was transferred to Kansas. Their son, Tyler, was born in 1985. In 1991, they had a daughter, Shelby, who was born in Tulsa, Okla. Karen and Frank divorced in 2003. Karen was a devoted mother, who enjoyed staying at home and raising her children. She liked the outdoors, fishing and boating. Karen was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family. She also spent hours cross stitching. Karen was preceded in death by her father, Mel Pierson; infant daughter, Courtney; sister, Gayle; and her paternal and maternal grandparents. Survivors include her children, Tyler Moorehouse of Fargo, N.D., and Shelby Moorehouse of Bismark, N.D .; mother, Mame Pierson of Havre; brothers, Rick Pierson of Havre and Stephen (Bonita) Pierson of Spokane, Wash .; sister, Sue (Dan) Clover of Spokane, Wash .; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and special friend Chris Bibee currently stationed in Iraq. Memorial contributions in Karen's honor may be made to the Gift Of Life, P.O. Box 7008, Great Falls, MT 59405. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
