MARGARET BERG obituary

Margaret Catherine Berg, 60, of Havre died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006, at her home due to a heart condition.

Viewing for Margaret will be 11 a. m. to 1 p. m. Saturday at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be 4 p.m. Monday at Van Orsdel United Methodist Church in Havre with Pastor Richard Rice officiating. A fellowship luncheon will be held immediately after the service at the church reception hall. A private family burial will be held. Margaret was born July 22, 1946, in Havre to Edward and Agnes (Tow) Cook. She was raised and educated in Havre and graduated from Havre High School. She attended Northern Montana College and received her degree in cosmetology. Margaret married Dennis S. Berg March 16, 1974, in Havre. They made their home in Great Falls, where Margaret worked for Malmstrom Air Force Base as a Billeting Clerk. The couple had two daughters. The family then moved to Whitefish, where she worked for the public school system. They moved to Havre in 1993, where Margaret worked as a para-professional. Margaret enjoyed sewing, quilt making, reading, puzzle books, computer solitaire and family game nights. Margaret was a gentle, caring, loving mother and friend to all who knew her. She got great pleasure out of the simple things in life. Putting others before herself was one of her special qualities. She often wondered if she made a difference in this world, and as all her loving family and friends show, she certainly did make a difference. Margaret was preceded in death by her father, Edward J. Cook, and mother- and father inlaw, Rita Sigo and Lester Berg. Survivors include her husband, Dennis S. Berg of Havre; daughters, Angela (Jack) Heffern of Helena and Rebecca (Jim) Gregg of Helena; sister, Bonnie (Joe) Parenteau of Havre; brothers, Bob (Jeri) Cook of Havre, Jim (Darla) Cook of Havre and David Cook of Havre; sister-in-laws, Leslie (John) Smith of San Diego, Calif., Marsha (Jerry) Lowry of Pocatello, Idaho, and Sue (Ken) Runyan of Meridian, Idaho; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions in Margaret's honor may be made to the Havre-Hill County Library. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
