FORT BELKNAP Carla Jean (Ball) Perry, 67, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2006, at her home in Harlem with her daughter, Cheryl, and son-in-law, James Stiffarm, with whom she shared a special bond with as her own son, and other family members at her bedside.
Her funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Harlem Assemblies of God Church with burial following at the Lodge Pole Cemetery. A wake service will begin today at 7 p.m. in the Assemblies of God Church. Carla was born July 29, 1939, at Fort Belknap Hospital to Robert and Alice (Pond) Ball. She lived most of her life in the Fort Belknap and Harlem area. She attended school at Harlem and Flandreau, S.D. Carla married William Perry. Early in life, Carla accepted the Lord as her personal savior. She loved the Lord with all of her heart and served him the rest of her life. She dearly loved her home at the Little Rockies Retirement Center, where she made lifelong friends, especially Mary Calvert. Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl (James) Stiffarm of Harlem; grandson, Vaughn (Charlene) Perry of Fort Belknap; sister, Yvonne Bigby of Harlem; brothers, George Ball, Gordon (Arlene) Ball and Frank (Edna) Ball, all of Fort Belknap, and Curtis (Marisha) Ball of Salem, Ore.; and many nieces, nephews, and friends whom she dearly loved. Carla was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William and Bartholomew Ball; sister, Karyn Ball Horn; and special friend, John T. Buchanan. Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
