MARIE EAGLEMAN obituary

ROCKY BOY Marie Cecile Eagleman, 68, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, at a hospital in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, from cancer.

Her wake service will began Friday night at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Rocky Boy. Her funeral service was scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, also at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church with Pastor Marvin Russette Officiating. Burial was to follow at the Eagleman Family Cemetery. Marie was born Feb. 11, 1938, in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Louie Merasty and Elizabeth Desjarles. She was raised and educated there. She married James Eagleman in Chinook. The couple made their home in Rocky Boy raising their 10 children. Marie was a homemaker her entire life. She was a very caring and generous person who always placed others' needs in front of her own. She enjoyed beading, bingo, camp meetings, her church, traveling and cooking traditional foods and eating them. She loved family get-togethers. She had a special place in her heart for each and every grandchild and always had a way of making them each feel very special. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jimmy Eagleman in 1997; sons, Stanley, Louie and Robert; brothers, Fred and Mike Merasty; and greatgrandchildren Gabriella Marie Rodrigez and Joseph Cole Eagleman. Survivors include her daughters, Caroline Eagleman of Yakima, Wash., Linda (Clarence) Gopher of Yakima, Wash., Angela (Drue) Newfield of Havre, Brenda Eagleman of Rocky Boy, Carmella Eagleman of Havre and Elizabeth (Joe Azure) Eagleman of Havre; son, David Eagleman of Havre; brothers, Tommy Merasty of Green Lake, Saskatchewan, and Joe Merasty of Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan; sisters, Clara (Bob) Norman and Madeline Laliberty, both of Meadow Lake; sisters-in-law, Barbara Eagleman of Rocky Boy and Mary Merasty of Meadow Lake; 33 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
