JUANITA LOPEZ obituary

ROCKY BOY Juanita Lee Lopez, 54, of Rocky Boy died Sunday, July 30, 2006, at St. Patrick's Hospital in Missoula due to complications from Parkinson's syndrome.

Her wake service began Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church with her funeral service scheduled for 10 a. m. today, also at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church with Father Pete Guthneck officiating. Burial was to follow at the Rocky Boy Cemetery. Juanita was born Jan. 2, 1952, in Fontana, Calif., to Arnold and Mary (La Fromboise) Lopez. She was raised and educated in California. She moved with her family to Rocky Boy in 1983. She attended Stone Child College for a few years. Juanita enjoyed art, drawing, playing cards and spending time with her family. She moved to Missoula in 1999 to be closer to family. Juanita suffered from Parkinson's syndrome and had participated in a research study with Swedish doctors. Their research now makes it possible to better treat Parkinson's disease. A book written by Dr. Livingston titled “Frozen Addict” told about his research. Juanita was very proud of her participation in this study.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Eloy Lopez; and sister, Carol Lopez Hernandez. Survivors include her son, Joseph Lopez of Gilroy, Calif .; common-law husband, Ed Jones of Bringham City, Utah; brother, Charles Lopez of Hayward, Calif .; sisters, Gloria Flores of Rocky Boy, Alberta Lopez Wray of San Jose, Calif., Cedelia Lopez Wray of San Jose, Calif., and Sharon Lopez Richards of Hayward, Calif .; and many nieces and nephews. Services were entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
