WILBURT SEAMAN obituary

CHINOOK Wilburt Seaman, 76, of Chinook died Thursday, July 27, 2006, at Northern Montana Hospital in Havre after a courageous battle with cancer.

A funeral service was scheduled for 10 a.m. today at the Assembly of God Church with burial following in Kuper Memorial Cemetery. Wilburt was born Jan. 9, 1930, in Zurich to Edward and Olive (Cline) Seaman. When Wilburt was a young boy, his family bought a farm 10 miles north of Chinook, where he lived and farmed most of his young life. He married Rita Beard on April 12, 1952, in Havre. They were married 49 years and had three daughters. In 1966 Wilburt retired from the farm and moved to Chinook a bought a small place, where he lived until his death. After moving to town Wilburt worked for Speers Implement and Allman Refrigeration for a number of years. Wilburt worked for Pete Wadish for 13 years prior to his retirement. Wilburt's hobbies were fishing, taking care of his cows and drinking coffee at L&L. Wilburt was preceded in death by his wife, Rita in 2001; parents, Edward and Olive Seaman; brothers, John, Donald, George and Milo Seaman; sisters, Leona Seaman, and Leora Larson Survivors include his daughters, Sharon MacLeod of Elko, Nev., Beverly Pierce of Laurel and Debby Brown of Chinook; sister, Irene Prosser of Portland, Ore.; 10 grandchildren;, 11 greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials can be sent to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook
