Vernon E. Stremcha, 57, of Havre died unexpectedly Saturday, July 22, 2006, at Northern Montana Hospital from an apparent heart attack.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Fifth Avenue Christian Church. Cremation has taken place. Vern was born on March 15, 1949, to Joseph F. and Grace A. (Miller) Stremcha. He attended schools in Havre and spent most of his life here. He worked in the Seattle, Wash., area for a while before returning to Havre and working for Trig's Auto Electric. Vern opened his business, Vern's Auto Electric, in 1979 and was active in the business until his death. He enjoyed golfing, camping, traveling and most of all visiting and laughing with friends.
Vern was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Ernest Williams. Survivors include his son, Scot Stremcha of Phoenix; daughter, Jami Stremcha of Phoenix; sister, Mary Ann Trumpour of Council, Saskatchewan; brothers, Richard Stremcha of Cascade and Lawrence Stremcha of Las Vegas, Nev.; very special friend, Patty Alexander and stepson Jimmy Alexander, both of Havre; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and one cousin. Memorials can be sent to the Montana State University- Northern Diesel Foundation in Havre. Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home in Chinook.
