SHIRLEE EGGERT obituary

AUBURN, Wash. Shirlee Eloise (Pischke) Eggert, formerly of Havre, died Thursday, June 29, 2006, in Auburn, Wash.

A service was held Wednesday, July 12, at 11 a.m. at Valley of the Sun Mortuary and Cemetery in Chandler, Ariz. Shirlee was born in Pardeeville, Wis., to Eva and Fred Pischke, and graduated from Slinger, Wis., High School. After high school, she worked two years for her uncle at the Enger Kress Leather Company in West Bend, Wis. Shirlee married Fred J. Eggert Jr. On Jan. 19, 1939, in Havre, where Fred partnered with his Uncle Fritzi at the local dairy. Their 50-year marriage was blessed with two daughters, Kay and Pam, and a wonderful family circle, many special friends, and countless enjoyable moments. Shirlee was involved in a variety of activities during her life and excelled in them all. She was a skilled seamstress, a gourmet cook and a great hostess, a model and Havre Beauty Pageant poise instructor, a children's clothing retail business owner (Jack and Jill's), a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Havre, a P.E.O. sister in Havre and Sun Lakes, a loving wife, and a caring mother. Shirlee was known for her hospitality, style, grace and sense of fashion. She had a vivacious personality, a spirited nature, a melodic voice, and a presence and smile that could enliven any situation.

Shirlee was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; parents, Eva and Fred Pischke; infant sister, Muriel Faye; brothers-in-law; and sisters-in-law. Survivors include her brother, Jack Pischke of West Bend; daughters, Kay (Merv) Chapman of Renton, Wash., and Pam (Paul) Peterson of Lincoln, Neb.; two grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and grand-dogs and great-grand-dogs. Memorials can be sent to North Auburn Care Center, 2830 I St. NE, Auburn, WA 98002; Alzheimer's Association, 12721 30th N.E., Seattle, WA 98125; a local Alzheimer's Association; or in care of the family.
