RICHARD CECH obituary

Richard T. Cech, 66, of Havre died Sunday, July 9, 2006, at Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes.

Viewing will be held at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p. m. His funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Jude Catholic Church with Father Bob Erickson officiating. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the Parish Center immediately after the graveside service. Richard was born Feb. 17, 1940, in Havre to Thomas and Rose (Erbacher) Cech. He attended schools in Havre, graduating from Havre Central High School in 1958. Richard enlisted in the U. S. Air Force in 1960 and worked as an aircraft mechanic. He was honorably discharged in 1962. After his discharge from the military, Richard returned to Havre and went to work for the Great Northern Railway as a machinist and received his 20-year injuryfree award. Richard retired after 37 years. Richard enjoyed classic cars, muscle cars and enjoyed working in his shop. His best friend was Old Tom the cat. Richard was known for his honesty and loyal character. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Cech; and brother, LeRoy Cech. Survivors include his mother, Rose Cech of Havre; numerous cousins; and special friends, Kim Cripps and Lynn Roll Nelson, both of Havre. Memorials in Richard's honor can be made to a memorial of one's choice. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
